ABSTRACT – This paper examines the effect of vocational training on labor market outcomes in Brazil. The empirical analysis uses data representative of the Brazilian metropolitan areas, and estimates based on propensity score matching indicate that vocational training increases labor earnings as well as the probabilities of employment and formal employment. Also according to the results, this kind of training seems to be more effective for less educated workers and for those with more labor market experience.
